Calm
before the storm (Cliche') TUESDAY --
to make for some great winter weather with seasonable temperatures
with periods of sunshine and before
snow arrives later overnight tonight
Long
Duration snowfall WEDNEDAY- THURSDAY Complex
double low pressure system to track out of the Ohio Valley delivering
snow shield Wednesday morning. Energy transfer to coastal low
(late bloomer) to south of Long Island/Cape region to lock in
colder air aloft northern tier of VT.
Many questions still on intensity, timing
issues -- otherwsie sleet (warm bubble of air) to mix in aloft
perhaps on a line Middlebury to Saint Johnsbury-Maidstone.
Forecast with potentially moderate to significant
snowfall northern 2/5ths of state, and
"sleety snow middle part of state...to
glazing, icy travel southeastern 1/4 of state" all
going back to lighter periods of snow before exiting Thursday
afternoon SW to NE.

Looking
Long Range -- Arctic chill - cross polar flow
from Siberia to bring well below normal temp's next week. January
